As a therapist my words are open to a great deal of interpretation, every day, by many people. There are words we all use every day that have different meanings to the person using them. If I ask 100 people to define stress, I will get 100 definitions, none of which may match my definition.
What is stress, is it noise, expectations, to do lists, angry people, your job, your spouse or children, finances, house cleaning?????? What is stress?
Stress is merely MY interpretation of MY situation!
My thoughts can make it worse, better or non-existent. So why then do I continue to feel stress?
I need stress, it is a common bond I share with others. No one likes to be around a stress free person, we feel they have it too easy or they are not trying hard enough.
We judge those who do not have stress. The stress itself may cause harmful physical affects but I reason that is better than being judged.
Change my thoughts/ change my stress……..sounds risky!
